Overview

We want you to love what you ordered. If something is not right, we make it simple to return. This page explains your rights and how the process works.

Right of withdrawal

Your right to return

As a consumer purchasing online, you have the right to return any item within 30 days of receiving it, without providing a reason. This right is guaranteed under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the Danish Forbrugeraftalelov.

To qualify, the item must be returned in its original, unused condition, just as you would try something on in a physical store. Tags and original packaging must be intact.

The 30-day window begins on the day you physically receive your order. If the deadline falls on a weekend, public holiday, December 24th, December 31st, or January 1st, it is extended to the next working day.

How to initiate a return

Starting your return

We do not have an automated return portal. To start a return, simply send an email to info@swanil.com with the following:

  • Your order number
  • The item(s) you wish to return
  • A brief note on the reason (optional, but helpful)

We will respond within 2 business days with the return address and any further instructions. Please do not ship anything before hearing from us.

Sending an email within the 30-day window is sufficient to exercise your right of return, you do not need to ship the item before the deadline expires.

Returning the item

Packing & shipping

Once we have confirmed your return request, please ship the item(s) back to us no later than 14 days after your notification. Pack the item securely in its original packaging where possible.

You are responsible for the item until it reaches us, so we recommend using a tracked shipping service. Swanil is not liable for items lost or damaged in return transit.

Return shipping costs are paid by you, the customer, unless the item is faulty or we made an error with your order (see “Faulty or incorrect items” section).

Refunds

What we refund

Once we receive your return and confirm the item is in its original condition, we will issue your refund within 14 days. The refund will be returned to the same payment method used at checkout.

We refund:

  • The full price of the returned item(s)
  • The original standard shipping cost you paid, if you are returning your entire order

We do not refund:

  • Return shipping costs
  • Any premium or express delivery upgrade you selected at checkout (only the standard rate equivalent is refunded)

If an item is returned in a condition that reduces its value (for example, showing signs of wear beyond normal inspection) we reserve the right to deduct an amount reflecting the reduced value from your refund. We will always notify you before doing so.

Partial returns

Returning part of an order

You may return one or more items from a multi-item order. We will refund the price of the returned item(s) only. The original shipping cost is not refunded for partial returns, as the order was still delivered.

If your items were purchased as part of a bundle or promotional offer (e.g. "buy 2, get 1 free"), all items included in that offer must be returned together for a full refund of that offer. Returning only part of a bundle may affect the refund amount.

Faulty or incorrect items

Something went wrong

If you received a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, we will cover all return shipping costs and provide either a full refund or a replacement; your choice.

Please contact us at info@swanil.com with your order number and a photo of the issue. We will resolve it promptly.

Under the Danish Sale of Goods Act, all items also carry a 24-month warranty against manufacturing defects. Claims must be made within a reasonable time after you discover the defect.

Exchanges

Want a different item?

We do not currently process direct exchanges. If you would like a different item, please return your original order for a refund and place a new order on swanil.com.

Non-returnable items

Exceptions

The following items cannot be returned due to their nature:

  • Custom-made or personalised items made to your specifications
  • Items that have been used, worn, or are not in their original condition
  • Items where the original packaging has been destroyed or is missing
